West Midlands Metro name Charity of the Year

Wolverhampton based Compton Care has been named as Charity of the Year by the West Midlands Metro meaning that the organisation will benefit from a wide range of fundraising events.

Compton Care provides medical and clinical support to help ensure people are as pain free as possible and manage the physical changes to their bodies. It has also, over the past four decades, helped families negotiate finances, care plans and all the lifestyle and environmental changes that come with a terminal diagnosis.

It has been named as West Midlands Metro’s Charity of the Year after an internal poll of Metro staff.

Vicki Bennett, West Midlands Metro Customer Services Manager, said: “As a team we’ve supported a wide range of local and national appeals; but this year we wanted to do something a little different by focusing our fundraising activity around one charity. We asked colleagues to suggest charities that they would like us to support, and we had a shortlist of worthy causes, with Compton Care attracting the most votes from colleagues. Now all our fundraising events in 2022 will support the fantastic work being done by a much-loved local charity.”

Elaine Grant, Corporate Fundraiser at Crompton Care, added: “We are delighted to have been chosen as West Midland Metro’s Charity of the Year and we look forward to supporting them in their fundraising events. The money they raise will help to fund essential care for local families living with the effects of incurable conditions, helping them to live their best life possible.”
