Another revised timetable for Supertram from 28th November

Once upon a time in a pre-pandemic world the only tram system which used to regularly change its timetables was the Blackpool Tramway. But now in the new post-pandemic world and its getting increasingly difficult to keep up-to-date with all the timetable changes! The latest changes will be on Stagecoach Supertram where new timetables will be introduced from Sunday 28th November on all lines except for the Tram-Train service.

This new timetable will see reduced frequencies on the Yellow route (which had been enjoying a normal timetable up until now), increased frequencies on the Blue route and a halving of the service on the Purple route Mondays-Saturdays.

The changes have had to be introduced to allow Supertram to maintain the reliability of key services and to keep passengers connected across all the routes with staff shortages being experienced in Sheffield as they have been in other areas of the country. They are currently having a major recruitment drive to appoint more drivers with some set to go through the 10 week driving programme which will hopefully enable more services to run again in the future.

The following services will run:

  • Blue – every 20 minutes from start of service, every 12 minutes during the day Monday to Saturday and up to every 20 minutes on Sunday. In the evening the frequency will be every 30 minutes Monday-Sunday.
  • Purple – trams will run every hour Monday to Saturday but every 30 minutes on a Sunday
  • Yellow – every 20 minutes from start of service, every 12 minutes during the day Monday to Saturday and up to every 20 minutes on Sunday. In the evening the frequency will be every 30 minutes Monday-Sunday.
  • Tram-Train – continuing its revised service of two services an hour

Up until Saturday 27th November the following services remain in place:

  • Blue – up to every 15 minutes during the day Monday-Saturday, every 20 minutes at other times
  • Purple – normal timetable with trams every 30 minutes
  • Yellow – normal timetable with trams up to every 10 minutes during the day Monday-Friday, up to every 12 minutes during the day on Saturday and every 20 minutes at other times
  • Tram-Train – revised service of two an hour
