Manx Electric Railway and Snaefell Mountain Railway to continue running until October

After a successful season of operation for locals and tourists alike it has been confirmed that services on the Manx Electric Railway, Snaefell Mountain Railway and Isle of Man Steam Railway will continue to run five days a week until the end of October.

Operating all the way until Sunday 31st October, the Manx Electric Railway and Snaefell Mountain Railway will be running every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until the end of the season. Timetable C will be running which for the MER sees four car sets in operation with first trip from Derby Castle at 0940 (returning from Ramsey 1110) and final Derby Castle-Ramsey working at 1510, return 1640. Fridays in September plus Friday 29th October also see an evening service running.

For the Snaefell Mountain Railway its half hourly service between 1015 and 1545 (returns 1110 to 1640).

The Isle of Man Steam Railway will also run five days a week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The season will end with the Winter Manx Heritage Transport Festival between 27th and 31st October with plenty to keep you occupied.

Ian Longworth, Director of Transport Services, said: “Thank you for supporting the railways over the summer – we have been pleased by the number of locals and tourists that have enjoyed them so far and want to remind everyone that our services continue, including the popular dining car events and Transport Festival. Bookings are also open for our exclusive dining car and Santa experiences over the Christmas period, which include a host of old favourites and some exciting new events. These feature in the timetable, with more detail available from next week.”
