In this article we take another trip up Talbot Road in Blackpool to the former Wilko’s site in front of Blackpool North Railway Station to see some more progress of the concrete pour with the track up to the scissors crossover now having been encased in place.
Concrete is poured around the scissors crossover. It seems a very complex operation with a very tall piece of equipment used just to pour a small amount of concrete!
A closer view as the concrete is gently poured around the already laid rails.
Looking from the other side as preparations are made for more concrete to be poured around the tracks. (Photographs x3 by Peter Dockerty, 24th August 2021)
Later on in the day after the workers had finished for the day and we look up towards the scissors crossover with the wire mesh in place ready for more concrete.
Down at Talbot Square and there had been no further progress with the overhead. (Photographs x2 by Tony Armitage, 24th August 2021)
A day later and we take a look at the actual terminus where progress is being made with initial track installation.

My mind goes back to photos taken in 1903 of the laying of the hugely complicated clock tower junctions in Leicester. In these photos one can count probably no more than 14 workers all of whom must have been working flat-out all of the time.
