In Pictures: Edinburgh International Festival advert for Edinburgh Trams 277

In another sign that things are gradually getting back to some form of normality the world famous Edinburgh International Festival is returning for 2021 and to publicise the event a new advert has recently been added to 277.

Featuring mainly yellow adverts the design is in the usual Edinburgh Trams format of full heigh adverts on the third and fifth sections with the rest of the trams only seeing ads above the windows.

The 2021 Edinburgh International Festival will be taking place between 6th and 30th August with a mix of both live and digital performances. It won’t be at the scale of festivals of the past but there will still be over 170 performances with a mainly musical based line-up. More details of the festival can be seen on their website at https://www.eif.co.uk/.

Back to the advert and this is the third advert for the Festival following on from 2017’s version on 261 and one between 2018 and 2019 on 264 which was a special Parabola and Edinburgh Festival Fringe design.

This advert becomes the third on 277 replacing one for Parabola (applied October 2020) with a CR Smith advert having been carried from September 2017 to October 2020.

277 runs along Princes Street towards the Airport with its new advert seen on the side. In the background of this shot the 1970s building above the tram cab was built c1970 and is currently occupied by Urban Outfitters. It was previously the home of stores such as Austin Reed, Virgin Megastores and Zavvi.
