Another revised timetable for Supertram

Following swiftly after the announcement that a revised timetable would be running on the Blackpool Tramway after the start of the latest England wide lockdown, it has now been confirmed that Stagecoach Supertram will also be introduced on Stagecoach Supertram. There are two dates where timetables will change with a reduced tram-train service having started on Wednesday 4th November while the rest of the network will actually see extra trams running.

When originally conceived the tram-train service was running three services an hour between Cathedral and Rotherham Parkgate. This was reduced earlier this year to two an hour but now it has been confirmed that just one service an hour will run on the route. It will also be ending earlier in the evenings.

The first tram from Cathedral Monday to Saturday will be at 0527 with a return from Parkgate at 0559 with the final Cathedral-Parkgate working being at 2027 with the return at 2059. Sundays see the first Cathedral-Parkgate at 0830, back from Parkgate at 0902 with the final departures being 1930 from Cathedral and 2002 from Parkgate.

Anyone wishing to travel outside of these times are advised to use bus services instead.

While its bad news for the tram-train service, its better for the conventional tram service as although the reduced service frequency (every 15 minutes daytime, 20 minutes evenings on the Blue and Yellow routes with Purple route at its standard every 30 minutes) will be continuing trams will now run to their usual last tram time of around midnight. The revised timetable introduced last month had seen an earlier finish time.
