Around the World in Trams: Rome 9238 & 9226

We end November with another “Around the World in Trams” from Rome.

This photo was taken at PZA Venezia and shows two terminating trams with a group of passengers waiting to board whichever tram turns out to be the next departure.

Both these trams are Alstom (Fiat) Cityway models which were introduced in 2000. 9238 is now out of service whilst 9226 remains operational in 2025 – one of 27 of this class which are still in service. The fleet was originally made up of 52 trams. Turin and Messina also had a fleet of these trams.
