West Midlands Metro features on new album by Tom Aspaul

Songs which feature references to trams are in fairly short supply – even more so in recent years – but a new album and video by top Black Country recording artist and disco star Tom Aspaul remedies that! Tom’s first album was released in October and features his affection for home sights and sounds – and this includes the West Midlands Metro!

The album – titled Black Country Disco – includes a track called W.M. which is accompanied by a video filmed at Wolverhampton St George’s tramstop. The album itself has received rave reviews from magazines including GQ and Gay Times plus music industry websites and publications such as Billboard.

Carl Williams, the West Midlands Metro Director of Operations, said: “We’re delighted that the Metro features in such a well-received album that pays tribute to the region we serve. As an organisation we have always been keen to promote local talent and you could say we have a fine ‘track record’ of supporting the arts!”
