Chase the Tram run to take place in Nottingham

Saturday 10th October will see a “Chase the Tram” run take place in Nottingham with participants running all the way from Clifton South through to Nottingham Trent University – while abiding by social distancing rules. The runners will be raising funds for local charity Tracy’s Street Kitchen.

Some of the original participants in the event will now not be following this route will instead be running or walking their own route because of Covid but it is hoped that £2,000 will be able to raised for the charity. So far, over £1,500 has been raised.

Organisers Regina O’Reilly and Paul Merry, said: “We organised the run as a way to raise money for Tracy’s Street Kitchen, which is managed by Tracy Dickinson-Wheeldon and volunteers who collect food throughout the week from local businesses, cook it in their homes and then feed about 200 people over the weekend. We want to be able to financially support the kitchen for 2020-2021. The original plan was a bigger event but Covid has had an impact on numbers. However, we still hope to be able to reach our target of £2,000 and would welcome any more donations.”
