Manchester Metrolink Engineering Works: Sunday 21st April 2013

On Sunday 21st April there will be further disruption to passengers on Manchester Metrolink as no services will be able to travel via Victoria all day and the line between Piccadilly Gardens and Droylsden and Timperley and Altrincham will be shut until 1000. As a result of these closures there will be replacement buses in operation for large stretches of line.

Because of the closure through Victoria trams from Bury will operate as far as Crumpsall, those from Rochdale Railway Station will run to Central Park and services from St Werburgh’s Road will run to Piccadilly Gardens until 1000 and then after that to Piccadilly. Replacement buses will run from Crumpsall to Deansgate-Castlefield via Piccadilly and Central Park to Piccadilly via Deansgate-Castlefield.

Up until 1000 trams will also not be able to run between Timperley and Altrincham with replacement buses in use instead and the line to Piccadilly and Droylsden from Piccadilly Gardens will also be shut. This means trams from Timperley, Eccles and St Werburgh’s Road will terminate at Piccadilly Gardens. From 1000 trams from Altrincham will run all the way through to Droylsden, from St Werburgh’s Road will operate into Piccadilly and from Eccles via MediaCityUK to Piccadilly (these latter services will terminate at Deansgate-Castlefield until 1000).
