Around the World in Trams: Vienna 728

In this edition of “Around the World in Trams” we are again in Vienna for another look at one of the varied tram fleet in action.

Taken on 19th May 2012 in this photo we see 728, another Ultra Low Floor car from the B1 class. The tram is on the Ring Strasse at Kartner Ring on route 2. As we explained last time we saw a ULF tram these really are low floor as can be easily ascertained from this image.

The B1 class of tram is a longer version of the ULF with seven sections per vehicle and they were built between 1995 and 2005 by a consortium including Siemens and ELIN. In total 100 of this type were built for use in Vienna.
