Fares on the rise in Nottingham and Sheffield

Selected fares on both Nottingham Express Transit and Stagecoach Supertram are to rise over the next couple of weeks with increased costs blamed for the increases.

The first increases will be on Nottingham Express Transit with these changes coming into effect from Sunday 26th March. Cash fares will be unaffected but Robin Hood and MANGO users will see increases. A single fare tram trip using a Robin Hood Pay As You Go travelcard will rise to £1.80 with the day cap up to £3.50. The multi-operator day cap, for use on both buses and trams will rise to £4.30. Robin Hood cash and season tickets are also set to change, with the adult cash ticket increasing to £4.80 (the child version will be £2.90).

There will also be a 10p increase for MANGO users on single journeys – rising to £1.80 whilst the adult day cap will be £3.80 with the 7 day cap being £17. Single fares for Micro MANGO users will rise to 95p (also an increase of 10p).

Meanwhile changes on Stagecoach Supertram will be introduced from Sunday 2nd April. Adult Single tickets will increase by 10p to £1.70 and £2.40 although returns will remain at £3.00 and there will also be similar increases on day tickets with the Tram Only Dayrider becoming £4.00 (was £3.90) and the Sheffield Bus and Tram Dayrider up 20p to £4.20.
