Double win for Seaton at Devon Tourism Awards

Seaton Tramway are celebrating after winning two awards at the Devon Tourism Awards 2016 which took place this week in Exeter. Having being shortlisted in two categories Seaton were presented with a Silver Award for Large Attraction of the Year and a Bronze Award for Artistic, Cultural and Learning Experience.

The ceremony took place at the Great Hall of the University of Exeter on Thursday 10th November with Judi Spiers hosting the evening and with special guest Jo Pavey.

Jenny Nunn, Chief Executive of Seaton Tramway, said: “This is definitive testament to the hard work, passion, dogged determination and attention to detail from all who strive to make Seaton Tramway an excellent visitor attraction, and now, we can now proudly say, one of the best visitor attractions in Devon. The two awards are indeed great accolades which reflect a consistently focussed team effort throughout the year. You only have to think back to February 2014 and the ‘great storm’, which brought huge devastation to the Tramway at the time, to realise how far we have come in such a short space of time.”

As a result of its success in the Devon Tourism Awards Seaton Tramway is now fast tracked into the South West Tourism Excellence Awards in February 2017, with nominees in matching categories invited to represent Devon in the National VisitEngland Awards later in the year.
