UKTram Managing Director, James Hammett, was proud to recently represent the light rail sector at the annual Office of Rail and Road (ORR) annual stakeholder event. “A Year in Rail and the Track Ahead” was held on 17th July 2025 at The Memoir Club in London.
The event brought together senior leaders and decision-makers from across the transport industry to reflect on key achievements and the challenges and opportunities for the year ahead.
It also saw the ORR share insights from their latest reports on safety, consumer protection and economic regulation. It once again demonstrated the importance of collaboration across the sector with a clear focus on proactive risk management during the continued period of reform on both mainline railways and on light rail networks.
James Hammett, who was personally thanked for UKTram’s continued role in representing the light rail sector, commented: “Events like this are vital for ensuring that the light rail voice is heard as part of wider regulatory discussions.
