Around the World in Trams: Lille 420

As we stayed in East Berlin a bit longer than planned we have a few weeks left in June so rather than going to one new location, the rest of the month will see shots from across Europe, and we start in France.

This photo was taken on 1st June 2009 and is at the Deûle Valley tramway in Lille. This runs for 3km from Marquette-lez-Lille to Wambrechies on a metre gauge line and is operated by AMITRAM, although seems to be currently suspended until further notice.

But back in 2009 it was operational and 4-axle motor car 420 was in service as seen in this below image. This tram ran until 1973 when it was withdrawn and last enjoyed a restoration between 1997 and 2000.
