UKTram appoint Dan Hill as Knowledge Manager

UKTram have announced that Dan Hill has been appointed as the organisation’s Knowledge Manager. As part of this new role Dan, who has been at UKTram since 2016, will be to create a dedicated reference library and Request for Information (RFI) archive, which has been much requested resource for UKTram members.

Dan joined UKTram in 2016 as a Coordination Officer and quickly immersed himself in the industry and took on key responsibilities for the £3 million Low Impact Light Rail Competition. He has since progressed through roles as Technical Officer and Executive Assistant, before taking on his latest job.

Dan said: “I’m excited to step into this role because it offers a unique opportunity to organise and manage knowledge effectively and help our members navigate a growing and evolving landscape of research, data, ideas and best practices.”

Speaking about the creating of the reference library and RFI archive he added: “This library will serve as a curated knowledge base, bringing together all the technical information, procedures and topics raised and discussed by members over the years. The aim is to make key information easier to access and help people save time, make more  and collaborate more effectively across projects and organisations. I’m especially looking forward to working across teams to ensure the library stays relevant and member-driven. It should add real value to daily decision-making, strategy and innovation.”

He concluded: “The sector is evolving rapidly, from innovation to sustainability. There’s a growing need for timely, reliable information and I’m proud to support the people who keep our cities moving. I hope this work helps shape a knowledge base that benefits the entire sector.”
