KFC have a new advert on the West Midlands Metro – the second time they have advertised on a tram from that system within the past year, presumably showing they felt the first one was a success! This time its 53 which is carrying the vinyls, the first wrap that this particular tram has carried.
The new look 53 was first noted in service with the vinyls on Saturday 8th March 2025. It retains fleet livery on the ends but the rest of the tram is wrapped, including the windows being covered. On this occasion the slogan used is “HAIL THE GRAVY”. The vinyls are mainly black with gravy dripping down from the top. The KFC logo features in white writing with the slogan in red.
Last year 58 had an advert for KFC (between July and August 2024) but there was no chance of a reunion for KFC and that tram as it now advertises Birmingham City University. At the same time last year Manchester Metrolink also had a KFC advert so we will see if the same happens this time.
Now 53 has an advert it means there are three trams in the fleet with adverts. The others being 45 for City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (since April 2023) and the aforementioned 58 in an ad for Birmingham City University (since September 2024).
