Around the World in Trams: Oslo 167

There is time for just one more photo as we head to Oslo for another “Around the World in Trams”.

This photo is another one which was taken during a visit to Oslo in 2006 and although a more modern vehicle than the ones we’ve featured over the past few weeks it too has now been scrapped. 167 is an Ansaldo/Firema SL 95 which was built in 2000 (the entire fleet was built in the period 1999-2000) and would remain in service until the middle of 2024, formal withdrawal coming in August which was the same month that it met its fate at the hands of the scrapman.

We see the tram on Storgata with a line 17 service. The golden arches of McDonald’s are on the right of this tram junction and in the distance we can see the spire of the 17th century Oslo Cathedral.
