More Tyne and Wear Metro scrappings

We have now reached 35 of the original Tyne and Wear Metro trains have been scrapped (or at least sent for scrapping) with another two having recently been transported to J Denham Metals in Shildon for “recycling”.

The latest two to make their final journey have been 4067 and 4004. 4067 was the first to go on 30th September with 4004 then following on 1st October 2025. As with the previous scrap moves the trains were sandwiched between two other Metrocars to be moved from the main depot at Gosforth to Howdon, which is where they are collected to make the move to Shildon.
