Picture in Time: Blackpool 40

One final image from Crich as we have another edition of “Picture in Time”.

Blackpool Standard 40 is one of those trams which always seems to be part of the operating fleet at Crich although has also recently spent some time in the Workshops undergoing some much warranted attention having been used extensively in service.

When captured in 1982, 40 was towards the end of its first operating career at Crich if you like with it about to withdrawn for some major work to take place. This would come ahead of its starring role (logo star!) in the Blackpool Tramway Centenary celebrations in 1985.

In this shot we see 40 at Wakebridge as it is about to head back down to the main museum site.
