The Steampunk weekend at the Crich Tramway Village has become one of the most popular events at the museum in recent years and it will return again on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September. Organised in conjunction with Steampunks Always Welcome – Lincoln the weekend sees alternative history celebrated and of course the trams will keep on running too.
Steampunk is alternative history combined with science fantasy and the weekend is fun for all the family. There will be entertainment including music on the bandstand from Daisy Roots, Boothill Toe Tappers duo and Madame Misfit. There will also be a flea circus, Sam the Scam bunk booth and the traditional steampunk event of Tea Duelling.
The Sunday also sees the Full Fathom Five, a Steampunk acapella group will perform traditional shanties with Steampunk focused lyrics.
The weekend will also allow you to join the Steampunk Adventurers Club and you can see the amazing steampunk costumes and there will be stalls selling steampunk merchandise.
Candi Bell, Events Manager at Crich Tramway Village, said: “We are excited to repeat this family fun event, which has gained in popularity over the years. All activities are open to non Steampunks too, of course. Visitors can receive discounts on admission if they dress as Steampunks.”
