Trams &: Blackpool 634, trolleybus & bus

Another of our regular locations for “Trams &” is the East Anglia Transport Museum with the museum featuring trams, trolleybuses, buses and more all operating or on display on any given opening day.

This photo was taken on 29th March 2024 during the launch event for Blackpool Brush 634 which had just had work on its restoration completed at the museum having started a five year loan from the Fylde Transport Trust. The tram carries an approximation of a former advertising livery with “Terror Tram” lettering and is seen here heading up to the entrance of the woodland tram route.

As it does it passes two other vehicles which call Carlton Colville home. The first one we see on the left is Nottingham trolleybus 578, a 1951 BUT9641T trolleybus which has been at the East Anglia Transport Museum since 2022. And then just behind that is a Leyland Olympian bus – now in SELKENT colours this bus was the last from the Eastern Coach Works in Lowestoft and originally entered service in 1986 in London and ended its operating career in Blackpool.
