Its time to report a couple more advert changes in Edinburgh as one ad has a revision whilst another is a brand new advertiser for the trams. The two trams we feature in this article are 269 (new advert) and 273 (revised vinyls applied).
We look at 273 first as chronologically that change happened first. The tram had first received an advert for Uni Qlo (a full vinyl wrap type) back in March 2024 before their new store had opened on Princes Street. This was, at the time, a very simple advert with the Uni Qlo logo plastered on the vinyls but in early August 2024 this was revised.
The revision saw the full height sections (on the full wrap adverts the third and fifth sections still include vinyls on the window) change and instead of the store’s logo it was replaced by images of some of the clothes you can purchase from the shop which is now open on Princes Street.
Then in mid-August we saw a new advert appear on a tram – with 269 the chosen vehicle for this latest contract. It is now adverting Edinburgh Street Food and its of the partial advertising style (above windows on five sections, full height on two sections of the seven section tram). It’s a colourful design which is difficult to describe without seeing!
This becomes 269’s eighth different advert: CR Smith (October 2017-June 2019), EE 5G (June-September 2019), American Express (September 2019-2020), Edinburgh Napier University (July-October 2021), Scotland let’s do net zero (October 2021-May 2022), Edinburgh Bus Tours (May 2022-Feburary 2024) and House of Hearing (February-August 2024).
