Its August, it’s the school summer holidays and that means that families are looking for ways to entertain the children during the long six week break. Hopefully some of them in and around Derbyshire may consider taking the family to Crich Tramway Village and to encourage them the museum have planned a series of special events.
Its starts off on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August when the museum will echo to the Sounds of the 1950s and 1960s. As well as music from these eras along with the chance to have a go at some of the dance crazes of the 60s.
Then from Monday 12th to Friday 16th August its Discovery Week which gives a great opportunity for the whole family to discover science and history fun facts and meet characters from the past.
Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August will see the popular return of the Model Tramway, Bus and Railway Exhibition. A number of layouts will be at the museum for you to wow over as well as the chance to talk to their creators.
Its Woodland Weekend from Monday 19th to Friday 23rd August. During this week you can have a go at willow weaving and nature crafts as well as listen to enchanting stories from a storyteller.
The Teddy Bears Picnic returns on Sunday 25th and Monday 26th August and there will also be a picnic show with Amy Zing along with live music from Rocks and Frocks.
August events ends from Friday 30th August to Tuesday 3rd September with Outdoor Theatre from Notice this Notice theatre group. This year they will be performing a show based on Treasure Island.
