Service details announced for last phase of summer Supertram improvement works

The summer of improvement works on South Yorkshire Supertram will continue throughout August with service details now announced as the work moves on to Middlewood Road. This will affect trams running to Middlewood with the Yellow route instead being diverted to Malin Bridge, giving the short section between Hillsborough and Malin Bridge double the trams.

This phase of works will take place between Monday 12th August and Sunday 1st September and will see work undertaken on Middlewood Road. During this period, the following service will run:

  • Blue route will run in full between Halfway and Malin Bridge but with some minor timetable changes to accommodate the Yellow route
  • Yellow route will run from Meadowhall to Malin Bridge up to every 12 minutes
  • A replacement bus (YE1) will operate Hillsborough Interchange to Middlewood (up to every 12 minutes)
  • Purple route will run as normal Cathedral to Herdings Park
  • Tram-Train service will run as normal Cathedral to Rotherham Parkgate

This will be the final stage of the summer’s £5 million network improvement and renewal works across the Supertram network.
