It is expected that there will be no services on the Docklands Light Railway during a 48 hour strike which has been called by the RMT on Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th November. The strike comes over a pay dispute with RMT members rejecting a below inflation pay offer.
Operated by KeolisAmey Docklands, the Docklands Light Railway has the highest passenger numbers of any light rail network in the UK (more than half of all journeys made on the DLR) and with no trains due to run on either Tuesday 7th or Wednesday 8th November, and a late start likely to the service on Thursday 9th November also expected, this strike is expected to cause major disruption with other parts of the London transport system expected to be busier as a result.
The World Travel Market is taking place at ExCeL London on both days and anyone travelling to this are advised to either use Elizabeth line services to Custom House or IFS Cloud Cable Car services from North Greenwich to Royal Docks which is then a 15 minute walk.
Glynn Barton, TfL’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “Strikes are bad news for everyone and we continue to work with our operator, KeolisAmey Docklands, to try and resolve the matter and avoid disruption to our customers. Our advice for our customers is clear; plan ahead, consider alternative routes, check before you travel and allow extra time to complete your journeys.”
