Metrolink Engineering Works: 4th & 5th November 2023

The last planned engineering works on Manchester Metrolink before the busy festive period will be taking place over the weekend of Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th November affecting services on both the Bury and Rochdale lines.

During the weekend no trams will run:

  • Bury-Whitefield
  • Freehold-Rochdale Town Centre

Replacement bus services serving all stops in these areas will be running instead.

On Saturday 4th November revised services on the network will run as follows:

  • Whitefield-Piccadilly
  • East Didsbury-Freehold (between 0900 and 1830 this will run every 6 minutes)
  • Altrincham-Crumpsall (between 0900 and 1830 only)

Then on Sunday 5th November trams will run every 12 minutes:

  • Whitefield-Piccadilly
  • East Didsbury-Freehold

All other routes on both days will run as normal.

Head of Metrolink, Danny Vaughan, said: “We are very sorry for any inconvenience these essential works may cause people to people travelling this weekend. However, it’s important we maintain and improve the network so it continues to provide a reliable and safe service to all our customers.

“The work has been scheduled to minimise disruption during the week, when more use the network and we will be doing everything we can to keep the disruption to a minimum. We have a comprehensive replacement bus service, so people can still get to and from their intended destinations and I’d encourage passengers to monitor our website and social media channels for the latest information and advice.”

  1. Steve Hyde says:

The Sunday service frequencies are every 15 minutes rather than 12 minutes. The network wide Sunday service frequencies changed a few weeks ago under the same timetable change that saw the reinstatement of the weekd and Saturday additional Etihad Campus to MediaCityUK service.
