2024 dates announced for Isle of Man heritage lines

We may still be a few weeks away from the end of the 2023 season but that doesn’t mean its too soon to look ahead to next year as the 2024 operating dates for the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway, Manx Electric Railway and Snaefell Mountain Railway have all been announced along with the Heritage Transport Festival.

The Manx Electric Railway will be the first of the three lines to resume operation with this being on Tuesday 12th March, then a week later on 19th March it’s the turn of the Snaefell Mountain Railway to start running and then a further week later – 26th March – the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway will open. All three lines are scheduled to run until Sunday 3rd November. Not all tramways will run on every day between these dates. Timetable details will follow closer to the time.

The Manx Heritage Transport Festival returns to a six day event after the extra long festival which ran earlier this year to celebrate 150 years of the Isle of Man Steam Railway and 130th anniversary of the Manx Electric Railway. It takes place from Tuesday 30th July until Sunday 4th August 2024.
