The Number 20: South Yorkshire Supertram 20

During March our Monday evening photo series will be the return of “The Number 20”. This time out we feature a tram that we have seen in this series before but this time it is actually carrying the number 20 rather than being the 20th of the class as it is now.

Tram: South Yorkshire Supertram 20

Built: 1994

Qualification for series: It’s the number 20!

This photo dates from 20th May 1996 and shows 20 running along Langsett Road with a working towards Halfway. The tram was still in the original South Yorkshire Supertram grey livery and of course this was before Stagecoach took over the operation of the system so its still also got the original number of 20. Today its 120 and carries a special Sheffield Corporation livery. (Photograph by Tony Sullivan, 20th May 1996)
