Crich Photo line-ups: Works Cars – 2016

Its another theme we’ve seen before in this series of “Crich Photo line-ups” but as with some of the others its second coming is supersized from the previous one!

This Works Car line-ups featured at Tram Day on 10th September 2016 – it was a one-off opportunity to get these Works Cars together as Oporto C65 was on site briefly before going to Beamish and in the end ten different vehicles were displayed on the depot fan. Along with the aforementioned C65 was the Blackpool Electric Locomotive, Cardiff 131, Sheffield 330, Croydon Tramlink 058, GMJ, Rupert, Leeds Tower Wagon 2, Crane 4 and the Glasgow ex-Welding Trailer. As we saw with the nine tram open-topper line-up this many proves very problematic to get all in one shot!

OK first attempt to cover some of the Works vehicles! Left to right is Tramlink 058, Leeds Tower Wagon 2, the Blackpool Electric Locomotive and Cardiff 131. The Crane is behind 131. So that’s five of them for you!

Next photo and we include the other vehicles to feature – plus another one which could probably state a claim to be included anyway. That extra vehicle is the electric tug “PAT1” which does a lot of the shunting around the depot fan and just behind that is Rupert and then Crane 4 (again). Sheffield 330 is beyond the crane and alongside that is GMJ with the Glasgow Welding Trailer behind that. Then it’s the star of the day Oporto C65 on the centre track. (That’s all of the vehicles in two shots then!)

An extra photo for you of the line-up with 330, GMJ, Glasgow ex-Welding Trailer, 131, Blackpool Loco, Oporto C65 and Leeds Tower Wagon 2 all featuring. (All Photographs by Gareth Prior)
