In this final edition of “Out and About” for 2022 (it will return in 2023 with more of the excellent images you have shared with us from the latter part of 2022 as well as hopefully more from next year!) we are off to the northeast for images taken around South Gosforth on the Tyne and Wear Metro.
The first production Metro set (4001 and 4002 were prototypes) is 4003 and this image pictures it approaching South Gosforth on a short working to Pelaw with the depot in the background.
The depot has been subject to redevelopment to cater for the new Stadler built trains which are due to start to be delivered from Switzerland imminently. There is no doubts of who is operating the depot with the large Stadler on the new shed which is part of this major investment. (Both Photographs by Trevor Hall, 24th November 2022)
