Out and About: More at Edinburgh Airport

A few weeks ago “Out and About” visited Edinburgh Airport – and we’re at it again today! This time we take a look at the tramstop itself along with the only tram which doesn’t ever go anywhere.

The mock-up was at one stage displayed on Princes Street before tram services started but in more recent times has been placed at the Airport. It was originally there to provide information as well as somewhere to wait for the next tram but since Covid hit has been locked shut. It now has adverts for Edinburghticket.com which allows travellers to buy tickets for travel online.

As travellers leave the airport building and approach the tram and bus stops to the city they are met by new banners on the tramstop awnings, so they are left in no doubt as to how they should travel to the city centre!

There are multiple ticket machines at the entrance to the tramstop (8 in total) with Ticket Inspectors to assist with the purchase of tickets and also to check the tickets of passengers arriving at the airport stop. (All Photographs by John Hampton, May 2022)
