“Out and About” is back today as we feature Manchester Metrolink with some views captured at the start of September.
Ideally situated for photos when you’re just heading to Manchester Piccadilly for a train home after a day “on the trams” the bridge which links the station approach to Piccadilly Place is a good location to capture images of trams from above. This photo shows one of the newer M5000s to have entered service – 3144 – as its on the final approach to the undercroft which is where the Piccadilly Metrolink is located.
Earlier on the same day and this is St Peter’s Square where 3116 is the back unit of a double which is off to MediaCityUK. The tram is in an advert for Sale Sharks which features a different design with different slogans on each side. This side tells us they are the “Fabric of the North”.
