  1. James Jones says:

I presume Saturdays work is related to Victoria station but what about Sunday? Will this be the first time that the turnback at Cornbrook has been used as part of a day’s service?

    • Ken Walker says:

Normally the Victoria station work only affects the service on Sundays. I wonder if it’s anything to do with TMS between Irk Valley and Corporation Street. With most of the East Didsbury / Rochdale route done I would imagine they would want to fill in the gaps ASAP.

      • freel07 says:

The work on the Bury Line is associated with Queens Road stop I believe. I think the are realigning the track through the site to allow for straight platforms. TMS is unlikely to arrive at Victoria until after the current refurbishment project is complete.

  2. Linda Goodacre says:

Can it be a co-incidence that the trams are not running into Manchester City Centre on the day of the TUC National Demonstration against austerity and in support of the NHS?

    • Ken Walker says:

The trams, like the buses, are curtailed during the march, because the roads are being closed off by the police. So yes, it’s directly connected.
