Stagecoach Supertram Engineering Works: 20th and 21st August

Essential engineering works on Stagecoach Supertram on the weekend of Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August will mean that the Blue and Purple routes will be running a revised (or no) service throughout the weekend.

The works are taking place in the South Street Bridge area which means the following services will run:

  • BLUE route – Malin Bridge to Cricket Inn Road
  • PURPLE route – no service

Neither the YELLOW or TRAM-TRAIN routes will be affected by these works however there is scheduled strike action on Network Rail which is likely to mean revised services will run on the TRAM-TRAIN service to Rotherham Parkgate.

Bus services:

  • B1 replacement service – to be operated by TM Travel. More details to follow on times and route.
  • Stagecoach and First 120 bus service between City, Manor Top and Halfway
  • First 51 between White Lane and City
  • First 1/1a between Herdings and City

The work is due to take place between 0030 on Saturday 20th until 0500 on Monday 22nd August with work taking place 24 hours a day during this period. It will see saw cutters, concrete breakers and other pieces of noisy equipment in use to allow for worn rail to be removed and replaced with new track.

Luckily I’m there the weekend afterwards. Although a picture of the works being carried out is always a good one to get.
