Out and About: Double Starling Bank adverts in Manchester

Manchester Metrolink is the latest subject of our “Out and About” series as we have to take a double-take with two trams carrying the same advert livery.

Starling Bank were one of the sponsors of the Women’s Football European Championships which took place in England during July and the design of their advert was made to look like a football pitch to recognise this. One of the trams to receive the advert was 3081 which is seen here at St Peter’s Square heading for East Didsbury.

Later on and we see 3081 back at St Peter’s Square with it now heading in the opposite direction to Shaw & Crompton.

3092 was the second tram to receive the advert. This is St Peter’s Square once more with the tram heading to Victoria.

And 3092 again as it departs from St Peter’s Square. (Photographs x4 by Michael Morton, 14th July 2022)

I noticed over last few days that 3081 & 3092 have lost “Starling Bank” advertisement and now return to normal stranded Metrolink livery.
