Trams &: Blackpool 227 & coach

We’re off to the coast for this edition of “Trams &” as we feature a heritage tram alongside a much more modern coach in Blackpool.

If you ever head to Blackpool one thing you are likely to notice is that there is a big variety of coaches in town from across the UK, which gives plenty of opportunity to capture a “Trams &” image – especially outside hotels as they load or unload their passengers. And so it was on 25th September 2021 at Cabin on Queens Promenade. As Boat Car 227 heads north away from the heritage stop with a service which will head up to Little Bispham, round the loop and then back south we see on the main road a brightly coloured coach heading south.

That coach has the reg no. BJ16 KXX and is in an anonymous bright orange livery. A Mercedes Benz Tourismo this was new in 2016 and was originally operated by Shearings Holidays although now seems to have moved on to a new operator.
