In Pictures: Work continues at The Shore tramstop

As work continues to progress at various sites on the route of the Trams to Newhaven extension of the Edinburgh Trams system in this latest pictorial update we head to The Shore tramstop to see what’s been going on there.

The stop at The Shore will be the fifth stop from the city centre to be built (preceded by Picardy Place, McDonald Road, Balfour Street and Foot of the Walk and followed by Port of Leith, Ocean Terminal and Newhaven). Located on Constitution Street, just the city centre side of the junction with Bernard Street and Baltic Street, the stop will feature an island platform.

Looking north across the Bernard Street/Baltic Street junction with the Robert Burns statue just visible on the far left hand side this photo shows The Shore tramstop. The building with the green dome is the former Corn Exchange which was built in 1862. (Photograph by Roy Calderwood, 8th March 2022)
