Stop by Stop Blackpool Tramway: Rossall Beach

“Stop by Stop” continues today as we continue northbound on the Blackpool Tramway – today its Rossall Beach.

After the tram departs the stop at Thornton Gate and it passes over Cumberland Avenue we soon come to the location of the old traditional tramstop with the old permanent way yard still seen on the right, albeit now disconnected from the tramway. There is also a centre track here for trams reversing short of their destination or those out on driver training. Rossall Road is still on out left in direction of travel and we cross over Westmorland Avenue before arriving at Rossall Beach tramstop. There are no shelters here although both platforms – which are again either side of the tracks – have benches and information panels.

This is Rossall Beach stop – another pretty standard tramstop. Again we are looking towards Fleetwood.

001 calls at Rossall Beach as it works a Fleetwood Ferry to Starr Gate service.

Here we see 008 making the stop at Rossall Beach with a northbound service for Fleetwood Ferry. (All Photographs by Gareth Prior, 25th September 2020)
