Edinburgh Trams named city’s Large Business of the Year

As we reported last week, Edinburgh Trams were up for four awards at the city’s Chamber of Commerce Awards with the winners announced on Thursday 24th February. In the end they won in one of the categories – but it was the big one as they were named “Large Business of the Year”.

Edinburgh Trams won the award after judges were impressed with their response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Ever since the pandemic hit the tram has helped to keep the city moving with the operator taking a proactive approach to informing people of the latest guidance while introducing a wide range of measures to ensure the safety of colleagues and passengers alike.

Lea Harrison, Managing Director of Edinburgh Trams, said: “Through uncertain times, they have remained steadfast in their commitment to customers, always going the extra mile to provide a robust service for those who still needed to travel. Now we are focussed on welcoming back customers as the final Covid restrictions are lifted and we are all delighted that our efforts have been recognised by the city’s premier business organisation.”

Edinburgh Trams were also nominated in the Excellence in Digital Marketing, Innovation in Business and Director of the Year categories but in the end were just celebrating victory in the Large Business of the Year category.
