In Pictures: A rainy Manchester in July 2025

Whilst much of early summer 2025 has seen fine weather there have still been spells of more inclement weather conditions, and that was the case on Tuesday 15th July 2025 in Manchester. Whilst for some that would be an excuse to put the camera away until things improved, for David Fowler it was the chance to capture some excellent atmospheric shots which shows that the sun doesn’t always shine in Manchester!

Umbrellas are up and the surfaces are wet with the heavy downpour which had arrived as we see 3080 – advert for USDAW – heading away from St Peter’s Square. Its off to East Didsbury and after a run along Lower Mosley Street it will be reserved running all the way to its destination.

The bright advertising vinyls for The Hundred on 3100 add some more colour to the dull, rainy scene at St Peter’s Square as it leads a double unit into the stop with a service to Victoria.

3008 arrives on the way to Victoria and we also see 3102 at the back of a double with an East Didsbury service.

There is even chance to go a bit arty with a black and white image of 3059 on Lower Mosley Street approaching St Peter’s Square. The rain continues to fall with everyone either going for an umbrella or putting their hoods up! (All Photographs by David Fowler, 15th July 2025)
