Manchester Metrolink Engineering Works: Sunday 7 July

More engineering works take place in Manchester city centre on Sunday 7 July with no trams running on Metrolink between Central Park and Manchester city centre and Crumpsall and Manchester city centre all day. In addition the line between Altrincham and Timperley is closed until 0830. Replacement bus services will run again on all affected sections. The service pattern for the trams will be as usual on these engineering work days with trams running Bury-Crumpsall, Rochdale-Central Park, Eccles-Droylsden via MediaCityUK and East Didsbury-Piccadilly.

  1. Ken Walker says:

I suspect this service pattern is going to be the same every Sunday for the rest of the year now with the station roof work going on at Victoria. I used the replacement bus service between Central Park and Piccadilly last week, doesn’t really take noticeably longer than the tram, despite the shambolic state of the roads around Victoria station.
At least Metrolink are running a service between Rochdale and Central Park, whereas in railway days any engineering work meant no service at all on the branch.
