We make a return trip to Beamish for this latest edition of “They Ran in 2021” as we feature another of the trams which have run in service during this calendar year.
Blackpool Marton 31 was the tram chosen to resume tram services at Beamish on Saturday 4th September after a long Covid enforced absence for the popular tram service. The service at Beamish may have been a reduced length of tramway with the section from Foulbridge to the Town past the Events Field not being available requiring maintenance work but its return in September proved to be popular with visitors. 31 was used a fair amount in the first couple of months but as temperatures dipped and the weather changes its use started to become less regular.
