Lockdown Walks: West Midlands Metro 34

In this “Lockdown Walks” we head into Birmingham City Centre for a view at the current end of the line.

Since December 2019 the Birmingham City Centre terminus of the West Midlands Metro line from Wolverhampton St George’s has been found at Library in Centenary Square. Giving excellent access to the Library as well as Birmingham Symphony Hall it has only ever been planned as a temporary terminus with the second phase of the Westside extension to Hagley Road, Edgbaston due to open later in 2021.

In this photo we take a look at 34 which is sitting at the Library terminus before departing for Wolverhampton. The tram is in the full blue West Midlands Metro blue livery without adverts. (Photograph by Roland Bull, 5th March 2021)
