Lockdown Walks: Edinburgh Trams 262

You know the drill by now. Edinburgh City Centre. “Lockdown Walks”.

With many historic buildings as the backdrop there are plenty of decent photo opportunities within Edinburgh City Centre and in this image we are at Shandwick Place close to the West End stop. We see Coates Crescent on the left and the tower of the one time St George’s Church West (now occupied by Charlotte Chapel) is prominent in the background. The building dates from 1866-69 and was originally St George’s Free Church with the Venetian campanile added in 1879-81.

In this photo we see 262 moving away from West End at Shandwick Place with a service which will eventually end up at York Place. (Photograph by Roy Calderwood, 11th February 2021)
