Lockdown Walks: Edinburgh Trams 274

We take another look at a tram running in the Scottish capital today for our latest edition of “Lockdown Walks”.

As we enter 2021 services on UK tramways are continuing to their revised pattern, which in the main means a reduced service. That includes Edinburgh Trams where trams are mainly running every 15 minutes. Essential travel only remains the advice as Scotland joined England in having a period of lockdown again in order to try and curb the spread of Covid-19.

This picture is taken at York Place and shows 274 – complete with colourful advert for Parabola – standing at the stop preparing to depart for the Airport. We are looking from the end of the line with the photo taken from the north side of the street. In normal circumstances this would be difficult but coupled with the restrictions and the fact that it was taken on a Scottish Bank Holiday limited traffic was around and that which was out was held at a pedestrian crossing further along the road there wasn’t much to get in the way.
