Car and tram collide in Nottingham

There was an accident involving a car and a tram in Nottingham on the evening of Thursday 14th January which saw services between Nottingham Station and NG2 suspended for almost two and a half hours.

The accident happened as the tram – one of the 15 strong Bombardier Incentro trams – was crossing from the section of line which runs along Meadows Way across Queen’s Drive to NG2 with a red car hitting the side of the tram. From photos from the scene it appears that the car came worse off in the collision.

Reports of the accident were first made at 1920 with service resuming through the area by 2145. During the disruption there was no service between Nottingham Station and NG2 on the route out to Toton Lane.
