Lockdown Walks: Manchester Metrolink 3082

“Lockdown Walks” continues today with another view of a tram in Manchester.

There has been some coverage in the local press of overcrowding on board Metrolink during the Coronavirus restrictions with people asking why there can’t be more double trams. With all available trams being used, even with fewer trams running on the network it hasn’t been possible to run everything as a double but some lines have seen some doubles running, which includes the line out to East Didsbury as seen in the below image.

3082 is at the head of a double unit here having just departed from the stop at St Werburgh’s Road and it is now on its way to East Didsbury in lovely autumnal sunshine. (Photograph by Keith Chadbourne, 4th November 2020)
