Stop by Stop Nottingham Express Transit: Clifton South line – Wilford Village

Continuing our look at the stops of the Nottingham Express Transit line to Clifton South we reach Wilford Village – the first of the stops which is a little bit different from the standard.

Having left Meadows Embankment and crossed Riverside Way the line then travels over Wilford Toll Bridge (the original bridge dates from 1870 but fortunately now no tolls are needed to cross it, either by tram, foot or bike!). The tram then arrives at Wilford Village which opened with the rest of the line on 25th August 2015. The stop here features an island platform which includes the usual shelters, ticket machines and lighting.

223 is captured arriving at Wilford Village with the island platform seen in the foreground. The tram is heading to Clifton South.

Just after Wilford Village the line takes a sharp turn to the left as we see here with 206 approaching the stop bound for Phoenix Park. (All Photographs by Gareth Prior, 18th September 2020)
