Yet another increase in services on the Blackpool Tramway

A new timetable will be introduced on the Blackpool Tramway from Sunday 30th August to allow more trams to run during illumination evenings with services running up to every 10 minutes. Blackpool Transport will also be introducing “Tram Full” messages on the destination indicators and some services will run as “limited stop” – just like the Twin Cars of days gone by!

As from Sunday 30th August the basic service pattern will be:

Before 0700: Every 20 minutes

0700 to 1800: Every 15 minutes

1800 until end of service (later services on Fridays and Saturdays): Every 10 minutes and with extra services to meet demand

If the on board tram crew believe that a service is full to capacity in this social distancing times the destination indicators will be changed to “Tram Full” and passengers are being asked not to attempt to board these trams and wait for the next tram or use the service bus instead.

Some trams may also run as limited stop to ensure that passengers further along the line are able to board. It is likely this will only be the additional trams on top of the timetabled service and will be at peak periods.

The other regulations already put in place will be continuing with face coverings mandatory (unless you are exempt) and each tram cleaned each time it returns to Starr Gate.
